Day of the Dead in CASA
CASA organized Day of the Dead activities including a Catrina’s parade on November 1st. Students and teachers dressed up as Catrinas and Catrines from different eras. In addition to being a fun and lively activity, the Center for Childhood Development (CDI) used the holiday as an opportunity to teach students about Mexican customs and traditions and make connections between their family’s present and past cultural history.
CDI staff, parents and members of the community are also putting together a book as a gift for CASA’s library. The goal of this activity is to promote reading and comprehension among preschool children in school and at home.
