CASA’s Library: A Place for Continuous Education
The teacher Lorena Martínez, who works for the INEA (National Institute for Adult Education) program, has been teaching her classes for more than 10 years within the CASA Library, being a suitable space for the population that wishes to continue studies of different educational levels and free of charge.
In one initiate the teacher began her work managing only 3 programs: literacy, primary and secondary for people older than 15 years, later the program was included 10-14 for children of these ages who, for some reason, could not attend primary school, in this group 2 people finished their course and one more is in process to present their examination and acquire their certificate this year.
Currently the process is more agile since there is a community square in the street of San Antonio Abad where results are delivered, and now have online modules that allow many more people to finish their studies.
We are grateful to the teacher Lorena who this year began the Open High School Guanajuato Plan 22, which is independent of INEA, which has 22 modules or basic subjects to choose the baccalaureate, the group currently has 6 people from the 5 of which are CASA personnel and one group member will apply the exam in the month of December, continuing work next year.
In addition to having the aforementioned modules, there are classes for regularization of primary and secondary education as well as special education, where people with language problems and hearing impaired are currently working with 1 person and 2 have just completed their Courses in this year.
With this, it can be said that the Library has been a space where many generations have concluded their studies with the advice of the teacher Lorena, who with great patience and dedication has contributed in the education of children, youth and adults, through cordial and above all, constant.
