XHSMA 92.1 Code of Ethics<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

CHAPTER I<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

OBJECT
The purpose of the Code of Ethics is to establish the principles, objectives, values, duties and
Obligations that will govern the actions of the XHSMA-FM radio station towards society, through responsible behavior.
This Code of Ethics incorporates certain guidelines in order to prevent
behaviors that may cause some type of harm to society or discredit to the radio station XHSMA-FM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHAPTER II<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SCOPE OF APPLICATION
For the purposes of this Code of Ethics, Collaborator shall be understood to be any natural or legal person who transmits content through the XHSMA-FM station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHAPTER III<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

ACCEPTANCE
XHSMA-FM requires its employees to adhere to the principles established in this Code. Likewise, its employees are obligated to ensure that all of its officers, employees, and directors adhere to this Code.
Persons who, in the future, join XHSMA-FM as collaborators, its officers, employees and directors, will expressly accept the entire content of this Code of Ethics and, in particular, the objective principles and values established therein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHAPTER IV<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

GENERAL PRINCIPLES
Broadcasters in matters of information are obliged to:
\u2022 Inform the public in an accurate, comprehensive, and impartial manner about important events and issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Present news and information without distortion. Interviews may be edited as long as the meaning is not changed or distorted.
\u2022 Broadcasters' newsrooms must adopt measures to ensure the
authenticity of all video and audio, including informational material acquired from the public,
freelance reporters and other sources, before disseminating it.
\u2022 Recognize errors quickly and correct them.
\u2022 Treat people who are subjects of the news with decency and sensitivity, especially
When dealing with children, strive for polite and considerate behavior, gathering information as discreetly as possible.
\u2022 Avoid distorting the nature or significance of events.
\u2022 Clearly distinguish editorial contributions and comments from the information context.
\u2022 Ensure that your transmissions remain within the limits of respect for privacy,
to personal dignity and morality, and do not attack the rights of third parties, nor provoke
committing any crime or disturbing public order and peace.
Radio should be a responsible space for information, entertainment, culture, and coexistence.
Broadcasters are obliged to heed the recommendations of the Audience Ombudsman.

CHAPTER V<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

INFORMATION PROCESSING

\u2022 The public must be informed in a clear, precise and exhaustive manner, citing the source and
respecting copyright at all times.
\u2022 The facts reported should be verified as much as possible under the circumstances.
Whenever possible, they should gather first-hand information; failing that, they should seek out witnesses.
\u2022 The cultural diversity of the country and the world must be reflected, for which programming will have to be plural, presenting diverse ways of thinking and providing a variety of content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHAPTER VI<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

NEWS COVERAGE OF VIOLENCE
\u2022 The media must condemn and reject violence motivated by organized crime, emphasize the negative impact it has on the population, and promote social awareness against violence.
\u2022 Avoid language and terminology used by criminals.
\u2022 Refrain from misusing legal terms that complicate the understanding of judicial processes against organized crime.
\u2022 When reporting on crimes, allegedly illegal acts, handle the information in such a way as to prevent criminals or alleged criminals from becoming victims or public heroes, as this helps them build a favorable image among the population, to become
tolerable their actions and even to be imitated.
\u2022 Omit and discard information that comes from criminal groups for purposes
propaganda. Do not become an instrument or part of conflicts between groups of the

\u2022 Seek to disseminate information and materials that are of social and cultural interest to girls, boys, and adolescents, in accordance with the educational objectives set forth in Article 3 of the Constitution and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
\u2022 Avoid the issuance of information contrary to the educational objectives set forth in Article 3.

well-being or contrary to the principles of peace, non-discrimination and respect for all people.

\u2022 Encourage presenters or hosts of live programs to warn about situations that may affect the protection of children and adolescents so as to minimize any potential harm they may cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Provide fun and assist the educational process in childhood.
\u2022 The transmission of programs and advertising that are inappropriate for children and youth must be

CHAPTER X<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

FROM THE AUDIENCE OMBUDSMAN
The audience defender acts as a mediator and link between the television viewing public or
radio listeners and the media, so for the proper performance of the
functions granted to it in the Statutes, must be limited to the principles and guidelines
