Towards an Official Standard for the Promotion of Reading:

In Mexico, access to reading and culture remains a challenge. Despite advances in education, millions of people still lack adequate spaces for developing reading habits. CASA AC, with its unique and innovative model, has transformed communities through its four lines of action: Rosario Castellanos Public Library, Street Libraries, Mobile Library, and the Growing Among Stories Reading Program.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our approach is not only to bring books, but promote a true reading culture<\/strong> permeates all generations, especially the younger ones, making this tool a driving force for social and community development. By aligning ourselves with Mexico's key laws and reforms, we are advancing a model of cultural inclusion that responds to the country's current needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Official reading standard<\/strong>
Currently, Mexico does not have an official standard that guarantees universal access to reading from early childhood. At CASA AC, we propose the creation of an Official Mexican Standard (NOM) that would integrate the Growing with Stories model into all IMSS daycare centers, ensuring that reading becomes a right from the earliest years of life.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our program demonstrates that early access to reading improves children's cognitive, emotional, and social development, laying the foundation for a stronger education. We promote this model at the government level so it can be replicated throughout the country.<\/p>\n<\/div>
