Develop diagnostic, therapeutic and contraceptive skills in the care of women with pregnancy, labor, childbirth, postpartum and newborn care, to recognize the clinical evolution and detect risk factors and indicating measures for their control or to refer them opportunely.
The future professionals will be those who respond to the needs of women in rural and urban areas, since in many places in Mexico there is a lack of access to sexual and reproductive health services.
To achieve the established objectives, the students rotate through the following services: Pediatrics, External Consultation, Admission, Expulsion, Recovery, Labor, and Hospitalization In public and private hospitals, in addition to doing internships in the CASA maternity clinic
They apply practical theoretical knowledge giving comprehensive care to women and their families during pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium, as well as care for the newborn, considering the rights of pregnant women and being culturally sensitive with special emphasis on identifying risk factors.
It is worth mentioning that the competencies of the midwifery care model are based on evidence, and are written with the recognition of the different educational routes. Y The essential competencies for the basic practice of midwifery are complemented by standards and guides to support midwifery training, regulation and clinical practice.
