Benefits for the Mother
- A natural birth represents a minor risk to the mother in which she loses less than half the blood in a cesarean birth and the risk of uterine infection is minimal.
- Maintains an adequate range of blood sugar and helps the placenta to receive more oxygen.
- Can be with her baby immediately
- The hospitalization period after the delivery is less, around 12 hours.
- During the delivery, you can assume different positions to minimize discomfort.
Benefits for the Baby
- While passing through the birth canal, the baby picks up the mother’s bacteria which strengthen the baby’s immune system.
- During a normal delivery, the baby generates hormones, such as adrenaline, which maintains the baby in a state of alert during its initial hours of life. In addition to providing the baby with energy and heat, it helps with lactation.
- The baby will eliminate all liquids from its lungs.
- Receives more oxygenation. In the case of cesearean births, there is a risk of insufficient respiration.
- The baby meets its mother immediately which promotes the production of milk and the mother-baby bond.
Positive Experience
In addition to benefitting both, the family and society receive the benefits of a normal and healthy birth. Among women who experience a normal, mid-wife assisted birth, our experience with birthing is one of well-being instead of an illness.
It helps to ensure that the mother and her health services provider interact as partners, sharing decision making and responsibility.
Accessible Prices
We work on a model of care which is based both on traditional and professional midwifery. We know the benefits of a natural delivery and we promote it as a preferred, first option. Nevertheless, if the mother decides to go to a hospital, or needs to be transferred, we also provide the necessary assistance.
Our midwives are trained to prevent and provide treatments in emergencies. We have equipment for oxygen and infant resuscitation. Our midwives are qualified to use them. We have experts in emergencies, such as gyneco-obstretricians, who are always available. All our prices are very accessible and, in some cases, free (a socioeconomic survey is being undertaken).
