This time, we are very excited because our gynecologist Juana welcomed this baby. Although she has welcomed hundreds of babies, this one is special. Medical specialists are generally trained to attend births in hospital environments, while at CASA we try to offer a different birth experience: no unnecessary interventions, no excessive intervention, continuous support from loved ones, freedom to take an active role in your own birth, and freedom of movement. We know that some women may feel nervous about giving birth without so many “things,” but women often need a warm, loving, dark environment without feeling watched or intruded upon. Fathers also enjoy the experience because they know they are there to provide support.
